Culture Critically is a blog and podcast I have been operating since 2021. While it’s never been as consistent as I hope to one day make it, it’s offered a forum for undergraduate and graduate students to produce public-facing media analysis, as well as podcast episodes featuring news discussion and interviews with colleagues.

Culture Critically‘s goal, captured in our tagline “Big ideas. (Mostly) clear discussions,” is to offer a space for people to hear critically-informed insight on media and technology in a way that is accessible and not strictly academic. We aspire for a kind of “shaggy rigor” where collaborators can explore ideas and offer their analysis in informed ways that are trying to communicate with their communities about issues that matter.
